Sweet Little Things . Week 4

Sweet Little Things . Week 4

This week was busy.

BUSY, I tell ya.

And I’m still a little tired from last week’s brush with the common cold, but oh, there were so many sweet little things to enjoy nonetheless, like …

Watching The Boy grow. I don’t reminisce too much because I’m really enjoying Matt at this age, but when I take the time to stop and look at his photos, I’m in awe of how far he’s come. From a 4-lb. preemie to my sharp-as-a-tack 6-year-old, who thinks he’s 12.

Unbelievable.

I don’t know which picture is my favorite, but my gosh, that one on the right where he’s pulling his little sock is definitely a contender.

Even then he hated them on.

We’ve been encouraging Matt to take control of Ruby when they’re playing, instead of calling one of us to have her sit or stay or lay down. Hearing him yell “Ruby, come!” in the deepest, most authoritative voice he can muster makes me smile every time. It sounds about as authoritative as Jiminy Cricket.

I wonder if dogs can giggle? Either way, I give Ruby credit for playing along.

Sun spots on dog beds. How is it that they always seem to fall right where a pup curls up? I’d lie there too if it weren’t for all the dog hair.

{My friend actually made her own, you know. Can you believe that? Just whipped up a dog bed one day. When you’re done visiting here, be sure to check it out.}

I don’t care how crazy it sounds, but I’m including the Swiffer in my list this week. Every mom of a boy who’s supposedly potty-trained should own one, if only for the sake of her bathroom walls.

Seriously, when does aim come into play?

It saves me from extra hard labor every time I need to venture into the bathroom after a play date.

Smoothies. I’m weird. I don’t like to take the time to eat the required daily servings of fruits and veggies. I mean, if you did, what else would there be time to do during a 12-hour day?! I think it’s way more efficient to just throw them all into a VitaMixer and drink ‘em up.

Mmmm, delicious.

My new favorite includes mangoes, peaches, and peanut butter.

White ceramics. There are so many beautiful patterns out there, but I find I get tired of them easily. I just love the visual calm of white.

And from Blogland … well, you don’t get better than these gals. I always love reading what they have to share.

Enjoy your weekend, friends, and don’t forget to come back on Monday to link up your Much Ado Monday post! Anything goes, as long as it wouldn’t make your momma blush.

  4. You are so sweet to mention the shutter display! I love it. It’s one of those projects I never tire of looking at. And. My week was CRAZY, too, Michelle! Is something going around? Well…more coffee for us tomorrow, right? And I, too, am a fan of white ceramics. But your words about the visual calm is the perfect descriptor. That is why I love them. I’m going to remember that!
