It’s been such a good week.
The sun’s been out and what little snow that’s left in front of my house is still a pristine white.
Downton’s back. {I could stop right there, couldn’t I?}
Ruby made a new pup-friend named Rosie, who lives down the street. She loves her new bud, and if you say “Where’s Rosie?!” in that let’s-get-the-dog-excited voice, her ears will perk up and she’ll glance around the room eagerly. Truly sweet.
In honor of that and all the joy life’s brought forth in the past 7 days, I’m happy to be linking up with the lovely Lindsay at Hello Hue to showcase all the little things that have made my week, well, kinda perfect.
White Picket Fences. Doesn’t this little feeder look like it should have one … a white picket fence, I mean? Every morning, a crowd of birds hovers around The Man’s latest garden store find, and it’s such a sweet way to start the day for all of us: for the little tweeters who gorge themselves on seeds and for The Boy and I, who like to watch them push and shove to get their share.
Drives Ruby mad.
Laundry Love. I adore my latest laundry find for two reasons. 1. This stuff really works. Just a wee little scoopful of the powder does the trick, and 2. just look at that tin! No sacrificing the visual aesthetic of your laundry room with a big ol’ ugly orange bottle of something.
Plus, I feel like I’m channeling my Nonna somehow every time I throw clothes into the machine.
The January Thaw. Yesterday I had our upstairs windows open, allowing beautiful fresh air into the bedrooms. It may do nothing, but I always feel my family has a chance at staying healthier if we change the air every so often.
White Poinsettias. So thankful I went with white this year. It still looks gorgeous in the afternoon light and I didn’t feel the urge to toss it the morning of December 26.
Rose Cream. My hands were starting to look like winter, but then I started using this. Now they look and smell like spring.
And finally, this little thing.
Only he’s not so much a little thing anymore.
He’s a big{ger} thing, and I’d like to know when he started looking so old?
Yesterday I spent 25 minutes trying to find a picture of Big Time Rush, because he said he likes that guy’s hair. Wha?!
When did The Boy develop a sense of personal style? Yikes.
Anyway, here’s to the lovely little things that make the world go ’round .
What are yours this week?
PS … Have you heard about Shine?
My friend Trina at Beginner Beans has authored a remarkable e-book on intentional living {isn’t that what we’re all working toward in 2013?} and she’s donating 100% of the proceeds to Tiny Hands International. Isn’t that wonderful? Please go check it out … I promise you’ll be inspired.
PPS … Are you a this little light Facebook follower? There’s usually something fun going on over there, so if you aren’t, please consider joining the community. I’m 5 “likes” away from the big 3 − 0 − 0, and if I hit that number this weekend, that is SO going on next week’s what-made-my-day list! Ain’t too proud to beg.

That little laundry canister is so precious! I love it!
