Sweet Little Things . Week 2

Sweet Little Things . Week 2

Wow.

This week was kind of weird.

Warm one day, snowy the next, I didn’t have my usual energy, The Man traveled, and I overloaded on Oreos and oatmeal.

Strange combination, to be sure, but it seemed to work.

It’s one of those weeks when I’m kind of glad it’s Friday, and definitely happy for all the sweet little things that kept me afloat.

Like …

The Boy’s Imagination. After putting Matt on the bus one morning, I walked into his room to grab his laundry. His bedside/Lego table caught my eye. I mean, what does he do after lights out with measuring spoons and Legos? Even Bobo’s not sure.

My orange coat. It’s orange. Like sunshine. Like the sweetest-smelling fruit. How can you not be happy walking around in that?! Just putting it on makes me smile. Oh, and it’s got a ruffle : even better.

A silhouette of Ruby. I finally finished it. I think she turned out looking very civilized. So unlike the real thing. The fact that it took me 18 months from “oooh, I should make a silhouette of Ruby…” to actually placing the little black piece of construction paper on a white background and framing it is the very reason I don’t link up with crafty blogs.

How do those ladies do it?

Sparkles. When the sun rose every morning this week {well, almost every}, it caught the light off a little mirrored “tree” I display in my dining room and did this …

All over the room. Sparkles everywhere.

It was like having starlight in my dining room.

Or a disco ball.

Totally made me happy.

Perfect Print. And how about that print, huh? “This home runs on love and warm cups of coffee.” Perfect. If yours does, too, you can find that here.

And from Blogland … well, you don’t get better than these gals. I always enjoy what they have to say.

Enjoy your weekend, friends.

This is wonderful! I very much enjoyed reading about some of the sweet little things that made your week. I’m trying to decide if my favorite is the starlight in the dining room or the measuring cups with the toys (I’m sure there was a purpose there, too, by the way – those spoons were probably necessary tools in an emergency Lego situation). Ooo, or your gorgeous orange coat.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Oh and your about me on the top right reminds me that I have a very important question: favorite Cary Grant movie?? (Is it possible to pick ONE?)

What a beautiful post Michelle! Your home is lovely, and I’m especially loving your Silhouette. You really did that with construction paper? I love doing DIY and crafty things but it takes me forever to accomplish anything. For example, the wreaths I’ve been making for nearly one year. :-)

Matt, indeed, and he told me the same thing. He was “Mattie” for years, but it’s no longer allowed because “it’s a baby’s name.” :)
